Fluorescence Excitation-Emission Matrix (EEM) spectroscopy is a versatile technique which when coupled with chemometric (multi-variate) analysis can be used for the rapid analysis of raw materials and cell culture media. We show how the methodology can be used for media stability testing without the need for expensive, time-consuming chromatography, and for characterising product formation in the bioprocess broths of a CHO based manufacturing process.
