Teaching Writing through Peer-Reviewing; Reflections on a New Approach This presentation is based on observations on student work from an innovative course which teaches and assesses writing almost exclusively through peer-reviewing. The course was originally developed as part of a staff-student initiative in 2012 and has since been developed and tailored to the needs of various groups of students within NUIG (General Science, Earth and Ocean Science, Law, and Engineering). Student responses to each otherís writing and to the course questions offer an insight into the possible obstacles that prevent students from developing into proficient academic writers.
