Small-scale laboratory challenges were used to assess the possible clinical significance of disc diffusion susceptibility measurements. The evidence suggests that Aeronionas salmonicida strains giving a zone size of 18 - 20 mm for discs containing 2 mu g oxolinic acid should be considered as being clinically resistant.
