Kinematics of the strange knots and halo of the planetary nebula IC 4593

Kinematical observations have been made with the Manchester Echelle Spectrometer combined with the San Pedro M·rtir telescope of the various features of the strange planetary nebula IC 4593. In particular the outer knots are shown to be inert and extended high-speed flows are found to be emerging from the nebular core.
