‘Development education’ marks a broad field of thought and practice that has been growing and expanding, but in the face of certain constraints and challenges. It is politically and ideologically contested and has tended to be funding-driven and project or activity-centred, resulting in concerns about narrow agendas and confusion over its basic purpose.
